NEURODIVERGENT PSYCHOTHERAPY AND COACHING
Get to know more about KARLA
From life's challenges to empowering others.

Karla has always loved to help people and animals. At the age of 6 years old she wrote to the local newspaper in South Africa why trophy hunting should be banned. She grew up learning that happiness can be created within, instead of with things.
Although Karla believed this, many didn’t and she felt how it was to be different to most families and friends. In her 30s it all started to make more sense, when she was diagnosed with ADHD and anxiety. Why she struggled to “reach her full potential” and why “acting out” by hobby hopping was more fun than sticking out homework assignments and doing what most seemed to do so naturally.
Even in her 40s she struggles to cook, complete admin tasks and stay on schedule, without her strategies that she has practised since she started studying psychology and specialising in neurodiversity - since 2004.

Currently, Karla is pursuing her PhD in Psychology, focusing on Emotions and Wellbeing. By integrating her academic knowledge with her lived experience, Karla aims to provide evidence-based strategies that are not only grounded in research but are also empathetic and personally relevant to her clients’ specific needs.
Karla’s biggest goal is to spread what she has learnt, in textbooks, throughout her life and together with her hundreds of clients. She wants to find a way where this very typical world becomes easier to navigate through for her neurodivergent clients and herself.
